Mama Esther Khokhong’s journey in service to God began in her early years, growing up in a devoutly religious family. Born again in 1979 and baptized in the same year, her faith journey has been marked by dedication and service. At the age of 25, she served as the vice secretary and contributed her voice to the church choir under the guidance of Pastor and First Lady L.M. Gabaatlhole at The Voice of God Temple in Tsineng village. Her dedication led her to be elected as the Vice Chairperson for the Women’s ministry.
In 1992, Mama Esther answered the call to evangelism, dedicating 14 years of her life to serving under Pastor and First Lady P.T. Selwe at All Saints Temple in Churchill Village. In 2006, she and her husband embarked on a mission to expand God’s kingdom, establishing a new branch as evangelists in Batlharos Village, known as Living Water Temple.
Her commitment and leadership qualities were recognized in 2013 when she was elected as the District Missionary for SA First Jurisdiction. The following year, in 2014, she was appointed as an Assistant Supervisor to the late Mama Elizabeth Makopo. In 2016 she was appointed as the Supervisor by Bishop Mathews.
Throughout her journey, Mama khokong has been actively involved in spreading the gospel and empowering women across different regions. She has conducted workshops, attended conferences, and lent her expertise to various women’s departments in places like Tembisa, Bisho, Queenstown, and Durban, among others.
Her vision for the women’s department is to raise up women who are deeply rooted in faith, committed to God’s work, equipped with skills, and fulfilling their divine assignments. Her inspiration comes from the depiction of the virtuous woman in Proverbs 31:10-31.
Born at Tshwaragano Hospital in Kuruman, Mama Khokong pursued her education at Khuis Primary School, Metsimantsi Primary School, and Lesedi High School, where she completed her matric. She continued her academic journey at the University of Mafikeng, earning certificates and diplomas in teaching and education.
She furthered her spiritual education through biblical training at Africa Theological College, enhancing her knowledge and understanding of God’s Word.
In 1984, she married Mr Pitso Jackson Khokhong, who later served as the Kuruman District Superintendent in 2011. Together, they have been partners in ministry, serving their community and the church faithfully impacting countless lives through their dedication to God’s work.
