Superintendent Mandla Ngubeni serves as the District Superintendent for Abundant District within the SA First Jurisdiction, based in Gauteng. He was appointed to this position by Bishop Mathews in 2014.
A visionary leader and community builder, Superintendent Ngubeni is the founder of Abundant Life Christian Centre COGIC in Tembisa, South Africa. Under his leadership, the church has experienced remarkable growth, with four additional branches planted in other provinces, including the Free State, KwaZulu-Natal, and Benoni. Beyond the walls of the church, Superintendent Ngubeni is deeply involved in community development initiatives, drawing from his background as a former community activist involved in politics.
With over 22 years of experience in community development programs, he is known for his creative leadership and hands-on approach to transforming lives through the gospel of Christ. As a lecturer and facilitator at Emit Leadership Institute, he mentors and equips young church leaders to make a positive impact in their churches and communities. He has also spearheaded impactful research initiatives addressing issues such as Gender-Based Violence.
In addition to his church and academic pursuits, he is the founder of Tembisa Care Centre, a community-based organization providing essential services such as counseling, trauma support, skills development, entrepreneurial support, and health awareness programs.
Born and raised in Tembisa, Gauteng, Superintendent Ngubeni pursued his education at UNISA, obtaining a Diploma in Business Management. He furthered his studies with a High Diploma in Ministerial and Leadership Training from Rhema Bible College, and a Diploma in Advanced Pastoral Leadership from Emit International Leadership Institute.
With over 25 years of leadership experience, Superintendent Ngubeni is ordained as a minister and designated as a Marriage Officer by the Minister of Home Affairs, enabling him to solemnize marriages within South Africa. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Theology degree with the South African Theological Seminary.
He is married to Maria Ngubeni, and they are blessed with two sons, Nathi and Temba, both actively involved in ministry. Recently, Superintendent Ngubeni was appointed as a Board Member of Maokeng Clinic by the Gauteng MEC of Health and Wellness, Hon. Nomantu Nkomo-Ralehoko, and attended Palliative Care Training offered by Wits University in February 2024.
